Services Contract Research Services: Probetex Inc. provides contract services to conduct experiments in renal disease models using the company's reagents or test agents supplied by the client. To determine efficacy of drug interference with development of renal disease, Probetex will produce disease with the anti-Thy-1, anti-GBM, anti-Fx1A antibodies, streptozotocin, etc and examine therapeutic interventions using substances provided by the client, Blood and kidney tissue is obtained, processed and analyzed by Probetex or sent directly to the client. Services include renal function tests (creatinine, blood urea nitrogen, urine protein) tissue processing for paraffin embedment and staining (H&E, PAS, etc) fresh frozen for immunohistochemistry, tissue products for Western analysis, and Northern analysis. Projects are custom assembled to meet the customer's requirements Custom renal, cardiovascular hepatic, and pulmonary models are also available. Cell culture: Probetex offers an assortment of cell culture services including cell proliferation, migration, matrix and protein synthesis assays. j j j j
Assay Development: Probetex provides expertise in assay development including ELISA testing, Western Analysis, Ribonuclease protection assay tailored to the clients requirements.
Histology Services: Probetex offers paraffin embedding, sectioning and staining for many routine histology stains including H&E, PAS, Trichrome, Silver and a variety of other special stains. All paraffin histology is performed by HT (ASCP) certified personnel. The company also offers frozen section histology and immunohistochemistry services. Dual-label immunofluorescence assays are also available. j j j j j
Histopathology Services: Pathological assessment of disease models is provided by staff experimental pathologists. Survey and quantitative assements as well as image analysis are available.
Complete photographic and archiving services are available. Antibody Production Services: Probetex offers contract antibody production in sheep. Antibodies are raised in 1 yr old female Suffolk blackface sheep. The company offers a complete service including pre-bleed, immunizations, production bleeds and a final bleed. The customer may request sera or plasma. Subsequent purification of IgG (ammonium sulfate precipitation) is also offered by Probetex. The company's animal facility adheres to the guidelines of the Animal Welfare Act and is registered as a class "R" Research facility and Class B dealer, inspected and licensed by the United States Department of Agriculture.
